Diaphage (Metformin Hydrochloride) is an oral biguanide anti-hyperglycemic agent indicated in treatment of type 2 diabetes. It improves glucose tolerance without producing hypoglycemia by decreasing hepatic glucose production and intestinal absorption as well as increasing peripheral glucose uptake.
