To reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or death in adults with type 2 diabetes with known heart disease.Can be used in people who have had pancreatitis. Not for use in people with type 1 diabetes. Not known if it is safe and effective for use in children under 18 years of age.
